Titanfall Dev's Battle Royale Apex Legends Officially Revealed

Set in the Titanfall universe, Apex Legends is a squad-based shooter, that's also free-to-play. Given that Apex Legends is an online battle royale, this is likely to be expected.

The game was all but confirmed when Titanfall fans noticed that playapex.com redirected to Electronic Arts' homepage. During the stream, there were several interviews with key individuals who worked on the game in addition to cinematic and gameplay trailers. Apex Legends seems to have the Titanfall name attached for now, but it still seems quite separate. As of now, players will compete on a single map.

There are eight Legends to choose from at launch, but Respawn plans to add more to the game over time. Each Legend comes with its own abilities and playstyle. It's thought that a few of them may have then leaked information about the game a little early. These beacons can be used once per game to revive downed teammates. Blackout has met high acclaim as a battle royale since it's release while Siege has made a name for itself in the esports space for the a year ago.

The first and most important point regarding downloading Apex Legends on PC is that you'll need to download EA's Origin digital client, install it, and setup a username and password, if you haven't done all that already. According to publisher EA the game will have a seasonal competitive structure which will grow the title over time, allowing players to unlock new Legends, weapons, and special themed loot.
