Begum has expressed fears that her child would be taken off her if she was to return after a British woman in the refugee camp told her United Kingdom authorities would not allow her to keep the baby.

A statement from the family, shared by their lawyer, Mohammed T Akunjee, said they are hoping to challenge the decision.

In a Tweet her solicitor said: "Family are very disappointed with the Home Office's intention to have n order made depriving Shamima of her citizenship".

Shamima's pleas to return to the United Kingdom have spurred debate all across, many believe that the right thing to do will be to make her face the United Kingdom justice system first before letting her in.

And the British Nationality Act says the Secretary of State can not deprive a person of their citizenship "if he is satisfied that the order would make a person stateless".

She left London in February 2015 with two school friends to follow another classmate to Syria.

But she said that after losing two children, she was scared her unborn baby would die too.

Begum makes it clear that she does not regret her decision of joining the terror group.

A Home Office spokesman said he could not discuss individual cases, but added: "We don't leave people stateless".

Ms Begum, who says she has lost two children to illness, also told The Times of her fears about what would happen to her baby.

"The security services came to speak to me and I was honest, I told them my whole story so now it's up to them to judge", Iqbal said.

The renowned theologian and former Bishop of Durham responded to a letter featured in The Times which claimed rehabilitating Shamima Begum back into United Kingdom society would be too costly and risky.

Mr Javid said those who left the United Kingdom to join IS were "full of hate for our country", while security minister Ben Wallace warned that runaways who now want to come back must realise that "actions have consequences". "So they'd only have proof I didn't do anything that is unsafe", she said.

In 2015, Bethnal Green Academy pupils, teenagers Shamima Begum, Amira Abase and Khadiza Sultana, flew from Gatwick Airport to Turkey and crossed the border to Syria.

British officials estimate around 900 people from the United Kingdom went to the Syria region.

"I'm not putting at risk British people's lives to go looking for terrorists or former terrorists in a failed state", Wallace told BBC Radio 4's Today program on Thursday.

If Shamima Begum decides to appeal the decision to impose deprivation of citizenship order she has 28 days to appeal to the Special Immigration Appeals Commission.

The family lawyer later said Miss Begum had given birth to a son.

The teenager's family have begged the government to intervene, saying that while they expect her to face consequences, she had been through a lot of trauma in the last four years, adding that her new born baby was "entirely blameless".
